Gabriel Dichter, PhD

Dr. Dichter is a tenured Professor of Psychiatry at the Carolina Institute for Neurodevelopmental Disabilities at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Director of the UNC Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC). Dr. Dichter’s research focuses on investigating neural mechanisms of core symptoms and treatment response in ASD using MR and molecular neuroimaging with the goal of using neuroimaging metrics as experimental therapeutics assays to evaluate novel treatments. He completed a K23 career development award focused on neuroimaging in the context of ASD clinical trials and has directed several R01-funded mechanistic clinical trials. He is a licensed clinical psychologist.
As the Clinical Research Lead for this project, Dr. Dichter will oversee the UNC site clinical assessment team, recruitment, enrollment, and community outreach. He will work closely with the ARIA behavioral specialists and psychologists/psychometrists to ensure timely, accurate, and thorough clinical data collection.
