Operated by the Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY), the Single Institutional Review Board (sIRB) streamlines multi-site IRB approvals for clinical studies, mitigating administrative delays.

The single IRB ensures that our multi-site clinical studies receive a unified ethical review across locations that enroll participants and collect data.

Streamlines the transition from protocol submission to site activation by providing parallel approvals across all participating institutions.

Harmonize Ethical Standards

Ensures consistency in the protection of human subjects by applying a single, high ethical standard across all research activities, regardless of geography.

Simplify Reliance Management

Centralizes and manages complex institutional relationships through established platforms such as SMART IRB, thereby reducing the legal and administrative overhead for individual sites.

Enhance Multilingual Accessibility

Coordinates professional translation services for Informed Consent Forms (ICFs) and study materials, ensuring compliance and clarity for diverse, non-English-speaking populations.

Reduce Investigator Burden

Serves as the primary point of contact for all IRB-related reporting, including amendments, renewals, and unanticipated issues, allowing study teams to focus on science rather than paperwork.

Data Integrity

Reduces the risk of protocol drift where different local ethical review boards might request conflicting changes to a study design.
