Eric Marsh, PhD, MD

Dr. Eric Marsh is a distinguished professor of neurology and pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. His laboratory studies rare genetic brain disorders that cause epilepsy along with learning, behavior and movement challenges.

Marsh’s research ranges from studying basic brain function in animal models to developing testing tools and tracking long-term patient health in rare types of epilepsy, including Rett syndrome and CDKL5 deficiency disorder. He has also helped lead clinical trials for new drug and gene therapies.

At Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania, Marsh co-leads major research centers and training programs for intellectual and developmental disabilities. He provides patient care guided by current research and serves on advisory boards for several foundations, including CURE Epilepsy. Marsh is also an active member and committee leader in the American Epilepsy Society.
