Ashley Blegen, BS

Ashley Blegen is a program manager for the Biospecimen Accessioning and Processing Laboratory at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Blegen joined Mayo Clinic in 2017 as a research technologist in the biospecimen processing lab. She later rose through the ranks as a technical specialist before being promoted to program manager. Before her current role at Mayo, she also served in leadership positions in human services, building expertise in team management and client relations.

Today, Blegen collaborates with internal research teams and external partners to manage complex projects, advance program goals, and streamline lab operations. She is recognized for her leadership, project management skills, clear communication, and commitment to ongoing professional development.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with a concentration in cell and molecular biology from Winona State University. During her undergraduate studies, Blegen completed research internships in Mayo Clinic’s Infectious Disease Laboratory, where she gained hands-on technical experience and presented her research at regional, national, and international scientific conferences.
