Dr. Tyler McFayden is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Carolina Institute for Neurodevelopmental Disabilities at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with expertise in evidence-based assessments of neurodevelopmental disorders across the lifespan and a particular interest in females with autism and autistic individuals that are non-speaking or may use limited language or AAC devices. Her research expertise and interests include predictors of typical and atypical language development in early infancy and toddlerhood, social communication and sex differences in autism, and the neurobiology of speech processing in Deaf/Hard of Hearing populations.
